Today we remember the Virgin Mary.

What a wonderful example she is to us all of grace filled surrender to the unreasonable and difficult demands which God makes of us all. In God the impossible becomes  possible. As we surrender to God in prayer, putting our own projects and desires to one side and listening carefully with open hearts and minds we will feel the inspiration of God working within us. We don’t all experience the visitation of the Angel Gabriel with his wings like snow and eyes of flame as did Mary when she said let it be done to me as you have said. Our humble submission to God calls us out of our comfort zone and invites us to become the fullness of our potential in and through God.  Mary goes before us as a wonderful example of gracious surrender as she bears Jesus Christ King of the whole Universe in the humble stable with its glorious manger bed.
